This is 2 different examples of MN45 German mess kits. I can tell you that finding 45 dated German mess kits is difficult- I looked for years before I found one that I thought was priced fair- $30 for the green one, and $60 for the bare aluminum one. These are made in the same style as the late war steel ones, with raw edges on the lids. The top one is the earlier MN45 style that retains the handle, and the lower one is the later MN45 style that lacks the handle altogether. All of the later style I have seen are bare aluminum- not sure if this is original or if these were painted as well.
